Students from Berkeley Technical Academy join our middle school classes once a week and become peer educators. We believe that teaching is the best way for them to learn and acquire skills that will assist them in college and career readiness. Currently these students receive school credit for their time with us.

Landious Barr Age: 16 Grade: 11th Favorite High School Memory: Rally day because it was fun and it was my first rally day ever, it got me in the school spirit. Short Term Goal: To feel more comfortable talking to new people. Something I Want to do Before I Get Old: Travel to Jamaica. Favorite Song: "Stay with me" by Sam Smith Something You Wouldn't Know by Looking at Me: I've played soccer, basketball and was a Cheerleader. Favorite Animal: Ostrich. Want to see how fast they run? Errianna Greggs Age: 16 Grade: 11th Favorite High School Memory: My first day as a freshman because its was really fun Short Term Goal: To maintain over a 3.0 gpa while having a job and working on my driver's license. Long Term Goal: Getting my drivers license and owning my first car. Favorite Song: "New Flame" by Chris Brown Something You Wouldn't Know by Looking at Me: I don't warm up to people fast. Favorite Animal: A white tiger because it's cute and adorable as a baby. Kenneth "Bugs Bunny" Guytón Age: 17 Grade: 12th Favorite High School Memory: Rally day of my freshman year. It was my first time experiencing the fun part of high school. I told myself that I wouldn’t get caught up in the hype, and by time lunch came I had red paint on my cheeks and my voice was gone from so much screaming. That day was hands down the most fun of my high school years. Short Term Goals: To start driving, prepare for college, and maintain a good gpa before I graduate school. Something I Want to do Before I Get Old: Travel the world. I really want to see the West Indies and South America. Mainly because I’m half Dominican, so I want to see where I come from first hand. Favorite Song: Crooked Smile by J.Cole. I really enjoy that song because it's like a neutral song for kids my age. Its not as negative as most songs and it’s full of ambition. It's as if he made it for a teen audience. Something You Wouldn't Know by Looking at Me: I love to write. Its the only thing I can do all day long if I had to. Its easier for me to write my feelings down rather than me saying them. Favorite Animal: Cheetah. They’re the fastest animal in the jungle and I love the spots.They caught my attention more than any animal. |

Mikko Punsalan Age: 16 Grade: 11th Favorite High School Memory: I really liked performing at the talent show because the crowd was amazing and supportive and very alive. Short Term Goal: I want to get a full-time job Favorite Song: Wet Dreamz by J.Cole because the lyricism is extremely accurate and relatable. It makes you feel as if you’re the one experiencing the song. Something You Wouldn't Know by Looking at Me: I make music (rap/sing) and i do a lot of sports such as basketball, football, boxing, muay thai, brazilian jiu jitsu, and wrestling. Favorite Animal: I would have to say a liger because it is a combination of my two favorite wild cats. Or either a gorilla because i feel like im a leader and can relate to a silver back. |
