Our Annual PLANT & PIZZA sale on April 18th was a HUGE SUCCESS!

We sold almost 2000 plant starts that we grew from seed
and we sold out of pizzas!

Most importantly we felt such a strong community presence
with hundreds of Willard students, friends and neighbors coming out to support Growing Leaders and the work we do.

Growing  Mushrooms

​In Spring 2023 our students learned how to grow our own mushrooms by inoculating shiitake mushrooms spores into logs. 

• Step 1: drill holes into Oak logs
• Step 2: Hammer plugs with shiitake mushroom spores into the holes
• Step 3: Seal the holes with hot wax
• Step 4: Place log in a shady place and wait
• Step 5: Be patient :)
