Growing Leaders Business Elective
|
The Growing Leaders business elective is a class that meets every day at Willard Middle School. To reach our yearly goals, we grow, prepare, and sell bi-monthly meals to the community. Students are involved in every aspect of the business from accounting, marketing, branding, to growing, harvesting and cooking. All proceeds from the meals go directly back to Growing Leaders to support all our programming. In our 2014/15 pilot year, we endeavored to raise $20,000 over the school year with our thirty 7th and 8th grade students. Astoundingly, our students exceeded all expectations and generated over $30,000 in funds to help sustain the program. In the 2017-2018 school year, we raised $65,000! As we enter the 2o18/19 school year, the veteran and new students are pumped up to tackle their $75,000 goal. |
